Where will the event take place?

Taste of Black Chicago is powered by Bean Soup Media, LLC, a digital marketing agency dedicated to amplifying Black-owned businesses. Founded by Toure Muhammad, Bean Soup Media has spent over 20 years telling powerful stories, driving digital engagement, and helping businesses grow.

As a journalist, marketer, and food influencer, Toure Muhammad has been a voice for the Black community, covering stories that inspire action and change. Through Black Chicago Eats, he has showcased the best Black-owned restaurants, helping them gain visibility and connect with new customers.

Now, with Taste of Black Chicago, Toure continues his mission—bringing people together through food, culture, and business.

The Taste of Black Chicago was created to celebrate Black people’s contributions to Chicago’s world class culinary arts scene. The vision is to bring the local community and visitors together for a full day of tasting, learning, and experiencing the great tastes of Black Chicagoans and transplants.

NOTE: Submitting application does NOT ensure your position. All applications will be evaluated and the vendors that are accepted will be contacted with a confirmation. If not accepted and you have paid, you will get a full refund. Our goal is to have a diverse lineup of vendors, and we have limited space. This will impact the selection of vendor participation. We look for well-promoted businesses and vendors with a strong presence in our community. Please be prompt with your application process.

All vendors must be legally registered businesses. You must have an FEIN and be registered with the Illinois Department of Revenue to participate.
